Mission

The Micro Farm Project is an independent study project aimed at connecting university students to local food production education that is centered around principles of regenerative and sustainable agriculture with an emphasis on food justice.

About us

My name is Kate (pictured right) and I am working on this project with my colleague Sam (pictured left). We both met while working on an urban farm during Summer ’23. We quickly discovered our shared interests in working on urban farms and learning about production farming. As Climate Leadership Certificate students at Western Washington University, we are viewing farming through the lens of sustainability and climate change. Our project aims to address questions like: how can mainstream farming practices change and shift in order to address climate change? How can we practice agriculture in a way that truly benefits the soil and the community?
